Philipp Freise, a Principal with global investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), has been involved with the investments in ATU, AVR, Demag, Duales System Deutschland (DSD), MTU Aero Engines, ProSiebenSat.1, SBS Broadcasting and Zumtobel since 2001. Philipp Freise currently serves on the board of directors of ATU, Demag Holding, DSD and ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG. At KKR, Philipp Freise focuses on investments in European media and Germany.
Prior to joining KKR, Philipp Freise was co-founder of Venturepark AG, a Berlin, Germany-based early stage venture capital company sponsored by Bertelsmann, Goldman Sachs and DaimlerChrysler, among others. From 1996 to 1999, Philipp Freise worked for McKinsey & Co. in Frankfurt, Germany and New York, NY focusing on serving media, health care and private equity clients in the U.S. and Europe.
Philipp Freise, a scholar of the German National Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes), holds a B.S., M.Sc., with High Distinction, from WHU Koblenz Graduate School of Management, Koblenz, Germany and an M.B.A., with High Distinction, from the University of Texas at Austin, Graduate School of Business.
