    ritchie_matthew.jpg In 2001, Time magazine listed Ritchie as one of the 100 innovators for the next Millennium, for his exploration of “the unthinkable or the not-yet-thought.”

    His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions worldwide, including the Whitney Biennial, the Sao Paulo Bienal and the Sydney Biennial. His work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art and numerous other institutions, including a permanent large-scale installation at MIT.

    He is currently working with several physicists, architects Aranda/Lasch, the Arup Advanced Geometry Unit and a group of composers to design a multi-platform visual equivalent for the operating language of the universe, entitled The Morning Line, produced by Thyssen Bornemisza Art Contemporary.

    He was born in London and lives and works in New York City.
