    bleecker_julian.jpg Julian Bleecker is co-founder of the Near Future Laboratory, a consultancy focusing on emerging and conceptual design-technology for new interactive experiences.

    He has spoken and exhibited at venues such as SIGGRAPH, Lift, Xerox PARC, Intel, and SK Telecom'’s Art Center Nabi. He works frequently with industry leaders, including Nokia Design and Microsoft Research.

    Julian holds a MSEng from the University of Washington, Seattle, in Computer-Human Interaction and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where his dissertation is on technology, culture, and entertainment.

    Julian is a Professor of Interactive Media, as well as an adviser to the US Pavilion for the Shanghai 2010 World Expo. He serves on the board of the Lift Conference and regularly juries for art-technology festivals. He is presently conducting a study on the relationships between art, technology, and innovation practices, while completing a book with Nicolas Nova called “New Interaction Rituals.”
